Indianapolis Animal Care & Control is the state’s largest animal shelter with an average annual intake of 18,000 animals. In addition to being a lost and found resource, the shelter has wonderful animals for adoption, a successful volunteer program and is the enforcement agency for animal-related laws in the city of Indianapolis/Marion County.
Citizens looking for lost animals or wishing to adopt are encouraged to come to the shelter during normal business hours – no appointment necessary. Additional services offered include microchipping (for only $10.00) and educational outreach.
